Product usability has been around for years. Software companies use the theories of human computer interaction when designing their products.

But not everyone realizes that these same concepts apply to the Web.

How do people browse your site? Are your links telling them what they'll find when they click? Does your shopping cart system make sense to the buyer? Are they abandoning their cart without purchasing your products?

All of these questions go back to usability. It should be part of your Web process from the planning stage when you're designing the structure and interface to testing of the finished product.

I've spent the last several years reading everything I can on Web usability, attending conferences and doing my own usability testing of Web sites. All so that I can help build better Web sites.
